Manga is part of Japanese culture. Of course, other countries have ones like
manga, too: cartoons, comic strips, bande dessinée, and so on. They influence each other. But
manga has the strongest influence of all.
What makes
manga special? There are some points. First,
manga has different categories. For
example, sports, love and history. Second, it has a story. Third, it’s flexible in ideas and layout of frames.
Manga was drawn long ago. The style of Japanese
manga continued to change little by little. And
then, today’s
manga was established in the middle of the 1900s. In the 1970s, Japanese animation
works became very popular in Europe. Foreign people became interested in
manga works and the original pieces of the animation. They learned how interesting
manga is. People began to read
manga in foreign countries like this. Now a lot of people in the world love
manga: not only famous
works but also less well-known ones. Recently there are some foreign artists who draw
manga.
